Research
My core research traces the Political history of Bhutan from the Battle of Changlimithang in 1885 through Bhutan’s admission to the United Nations on 21 September 1971. Within this arc, I focus on Anglo-Bhutanese relations and the evolving status of Bhutan as defined by the Treaty of Punakha (1910), especially the clause by which the Bhutanese government agreed to be guided by British advice in external relations — a framework later inherited (and eventually revised) in Indo-Bhutan ties.Project Repository
